Selective Laser Melting Machine SLM 125
The SLM 125 produces high-quality metal build parts from 3D-CAD files with a build envelope size of 125 x 125 x 125 mm³. The minimum feature size that can be achieved is 140 µm.
Macquarie University provides a skilled operator trained in the use of titanium (Ti6Al4V) and stainless steel (316L) powders.
Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) Machines
The 3D Print Facility has numerous polymer filament FDM machines. These units are consumer items designed for ‘makers/crafters’.
Parts can be printed using PEEK, Nylon, PLA or ABS.
Subtractive Manufacturing
The 3D Print Facility is complemented by in-house subtractive-based laser micromachining.
